thankful...

if we have calculated correctly, it had been about 7 weeks since we've all been home together when ryan has had a weekend off. this weekend has been much anticipated and it has been perfect. i have in my mind this idyllic lifestyle that other people lead who's husbands don't work in the hospital. i picture lazy weekend mornings, going to a coffee shop, long runs as a family, doing projects together, eating meals together... now, i know that although this sounds wonderful, there are lots of other professions that keep people from enjoying these pleasures. but, i still dream of it and this weekend we tried to make it all come true. it was so nice to get to spend all day on saturday and sunday as a family and to really reconnect. and it is the happiest i have seen lily in a long time - she absolutely adores ryan and i cherish the time they had together. i am so thankful for these past few days...
