finn wiley smith was born on june 26th at 11.29 pm.
8 lbs 6 oz
21 inches long.
he is a miracle and we are so blessed.


i started having mild contractions mid morning on the 26th. mid afternoon, my water broke and we were admitted early evening. finn came into the world in a big hurry towards the end and we were thrilled to have a beautiful son!

things i did yesterday to try to induce labor:
went on a run. mowed. weeded whole yard. mopped floors. cleaned house. chased after lily.
am i in labor today?

three peas in a pod:

as we eagerly anticipate our due date, our hearts are also breaking because our amazing friends are getting ready to head to the midwest for a year. i truly don't know what i will do without katy here... and lily asks for her beloved "ainser" and david all day long when we are apart. it is going to be rough on our whole family (that coupled with the post-baby emotions stirs great trepidation in my heart already!!) but, we are just trying to make the most of our sacred time together before they leave. so, we hit the downtown mall early this morning for breakfast and let the kids run around for a long time. it was perfect...

down by the river...

lily and i spent part of our morning today down by a little river about a block from our house. you would have thought i'd taken her to disney world. she was absolutely thrilled with the prospect of going and loved every moment of it. and then of course we had to head to the pool afterwards to help wash the heat of the day away!











ps. lily is in her room right now waking up from her nap. she is singing at the TOP of her lungs, "i want a baby, baby, baby, babe. yes. yes. i want a baby, baby! yes sir!"
soon, my love. very very soon.

we are trying our best to prep lily for what's about to come. i have no doubt she is going to be a wonderful big sister... and also that it is going to rock her world! :)





we filled up her water table with dried beans (thanks, adam and tisha!) and who knew it could provide SO much fun. she now lovingly refers to them as her "magic beans."
