my parents VERY graciously agreed to come and stay with lily this past weekend so that i could whisk ryan away on a surprise birthday trip. it was absolutely wonderful and we are so thankful for their generosity. we went to a spa bed and breakfast on the beach and felt like we were on a real vacation, even though we were only 2 hours from home. we savored every minute of it and spent hours walking the beach yesterday. it was exactly what we needed. thank you, mom and dad! and happy birthday, ryan!!
